THE GOLDEN GOOSE
Megan started training at just seven years old. Life moves fast, but Megan moves faster. Under the watchful eye of her mother, Lisa, she's earned the nickname "GG," or Golden Goose, for a medal collection that by now outweighs her. She's also a student, working toward a career path that lets her balance academics with sport.
The best part of Megan's journey so far? She's just getting started and she'll only get better from here. She's never raced this far before. But with discipline and quiet courage, she might just outrun every doubt.
Samuel Nderitu
Psychologist
THE GOOD MAN
Samuel has the kind of presence that speaks for itself, if a picture could capture goodness, it would look like Sam. He found his way into triathlon with a push from Megan, and though the two aren't blood siblings, their rivalry is real. His strength comes from family, a closeness that grounds him no matter how hard training gets and no matter how hard it gets, the smile never leaves his face.
He's a young man with big dreams, fighting to rise in a country full of obstacles. The question isn't whether he has the ambition it's how far it can take him.
Aaron Masini
Orthopedic surgeon
THE COMPETITOR
Aaron is a true triathlete and fierce competitor, proof of what hard work builds over time. His edge comes from mastery of detail: nutrition, bike mechanics, even the right pair of pink socks on race day. He knows everything it takes to be number one. He finds time to be a husband, father, an orthopedic surgeon, and the funniest athlete in the room, all without losing that fierce competitive edge in his eyes.
But beneath the smile, Aaron fights social anxiety, confronting it every day, in pursuit of his goals.
Mbugua Nyahutha ’Timmah’

THE NIGHT RUNNER
Timmah is a triathlete who trains after dark, squeezing endurance sessions into the hours left over from a full workload. It's a punishing rhythm few could sustain, and it says everything about the willpower that drives him toward greatness.
His road to Shujaa has been paved with setbacks. Twice, his attempts ended before they could begin. Now he stands at the edge of a third chance, one more shot to prove that resilience can outrun disappointment.
Kigathi Miri ‘Peter’
Dog Trainer | Plant operator
THE QUIET ONE
If you looked up "quiet" in the dictionary, Kigathi's picture would be right beside it. Kigathi found triathlon through Timmah and faced his biggest fear head-on: swimming. Unable to swim when he started, he was competing in his first event just months later, surviving the water with confidence and courage.
Peter's story inspires because he did what so many of us won't, he faced his fear and beat it. Guided by quiet belief, his resilience makes the impossible look inevitable, even against the odds.
Yvonne Muinde
Visual Artist | Art director | Filmmaker
THE LATE STARTER
Yvonne came to triathlon later in life and found, almost by surprise, a sport she genuinely loves. She balances the demands of training with a life that's already full: she's a professional effects artist, a mother, and a CEO. Yvonne is proof that focus and hard work can carry you a long way, no matter when you start.
She discovered triathlon just as her body began to change. With that change comes a quiet battle embracing a newfound love for the sport while navigating menopause, and everything it demands of a woman's body in return.
